i was just warming up on Painter for another meng drawing, but this guy came out, and i just hadda finish it!

i was trying to keep myself from refining the picture too much, and keep it as raw as i could. far too many times, i have found myself going TOO far with a picture, and realizing i should have stopped about ten steps ago. it's hard.. mostly because the undo command exists.

but yeah, some of you might remember juan aswang. he's an aswang (a filipino vampire/ghoul of sorts) who had his heart stolen.. well, the better term is ripped out.. at aswang-birth, and is on a quest to take revenge on the bastard aswang that did it to him.

without a heart, there is only hate in its place. and juan wants to know the other side.

aaaaannnnyyywwwwaaaayyyyy, yeah. this turned out better than i thought it would! and it came out blisteringly fast, as well! about 40 minutes for the lineszzzz, and about 20 minutes for the colorszzzz.

The composition in this is so awesome. It looks great. I love the warm colors and the look on his face. He is going to kick some ass.

hee, juan aswang (along with so many other of my characters) is a work in progress. this is actually the baby of a good friend of mine, but it never got a follow-through because i got cold feet. i've never made an actual comic that was like, more than one page. and i just feel like my lack of experience in actual comic work outside of pinups is gonna equal a really badly translated idea.

i don't wanna risk that yet, because i am so in love with his story. i wanna do it justice! so that's what the other series (with shifty, that kid with the towel-cape) is all about. it's like, my testing grounds and stuff.

No it's cool! That's awesome. I can understand. The best way to figure out comicking though is just to do it. I still don't know how to do it properly, lol. So hopefully you can practice on something less precious to you, first. It's seems great though, and I'd love to see it, or any (for that matter), comics from you.

That is really really cool. Love the composition of everything - including the position of the elements as well as the perspective especially on the text. Its really cool man.

Colors are different yet you, and the texture is really cool too.
