OKAY! i have internets for a while, and the frame of mind to collect my thoughts.

First off, EVERYONE. JESUS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. i still can't believe that this little project that was only supposed to be a nerdy join-devID thing between me and a few of my dA friends has picked up so much steam, and ZOMG warranted a daily deviation. this is unexpected and very awesome, and i can't stress how giddy it makes me, just thinking about it.

Secondly, is AWESOME FUCKIN POSSUM. i think this thing ramped up like it did because she busted her ass and COLLECTED all these IDs, while i sat on my lazy ass (deliberately, i'm in the middle of a vacation)/ hahaha! so. delya. thank you. and all of you reading this should give her love too, if you haven't already.

Thirdly, i think putting up a mini-FAQ is in order, because i'm getting a lot of comments and notes and stuff asking for clearer details. so here it is!

hell yeah. everyone and i mean everyone wants YOU to join. this is open to all. this is NOT a contest, this does NOT have a deadline, this is NOT (necessarily) a display of MADSKILLZLOLBBQ. it's just a bunch'a people making similar IDs because it's fun to unite like this.

2. I CAN'T PIXELARTZ WORTH A DAMN, I WONDER IF I CAN DO THIS??
hey, this ain't about pixelart skillz. it's turned into a huge community thing, no one's judging you and this isn't an exclusive club. it's just a bunch of folks that want to do something together. and for the record, it was my first (and pretty much all of the other orginators' first) try at pixel art. so. you may suprise yourself! i assure you, it will turn out a lot better than you'd think it would.

3. WHAT DID YOU USE TO MAKE IT???
Photoshop, from start to finish! although, you can use other programs if you can hack it. personally, i just did everything in photoshop.. sketched it, drew over it in a one-pixel brush, and then colored it!

4. THAT FONT!! HOW DO YOU INSTALL IT?? *EDITED*
a lot of people don't seem to know that i linked to the font i used... it's in the tutorial journal thingy, but it can't hurt to link it up again. THE FONT'S NAME IS ARCADEPIX, AND YOU CAN DOWNLOAD IT HERE --> [link]

as for the actual font installation... umm, i can't realy explain it well, but just downloading the font from the link i provided in my last journal entry isn't enough... you have to put it in your 'fonts' folder if you're on windows, or add it via fontbook if you're using a mac. i dont have any clear links for that at the moment, hopefully someone could help me out with this?

oh, hehe. this one's a real noodler. i was originally gonna make a character select screen for this, but now im not sure how to proceed, since there are just... SO MANY PEOPLE SUBMITTING AWESOME ENTRIES. i don't know how to amalgamate everything into something easy to follow and comprehensive... delya's doing an awesome job at keeping tabs on everyone's IDs.. but yanno what might be cool? having someone who knows flash real goods compile all these and make it like, a real interactive character select screen! i dunno. i don't even know how the logistics would work for that. just tossing out ideas and whatnot.

i think.... this will have to be put on hold, because there is NO WAY in my head to make a character select screen of hundreds of IDs. but if you guys have ideas, i'd love to hear em!
